Creative Spirit Centre
Since 1996, ISSU’s publications were brought under the Creative Spirit Centre; except printing, all aspects of publishing are handled in-house. The major production effort since 1996 is the day school and Sunday school curriculum, Windows to Encounter, from pre-school to Grade XI (12 volumes), available in English, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, and work is in progress in Telugu. ISSU plans to publish Windows to Encounter in all the other major Indian languages for use in churches all over India. Youth and adult Christian education materials are in progress.

What is Godly Play?
Jerome Berryman, the founder, describes it as an interpretation of Montessori religious
education. Like curriculum, it is an imaginative approach to working with children,
that supports, challenges nourishes, and guides their spiritual quest. It is more akin to
spiritual direction than to what we generally think of as religious education.
Godly Play assumes that children have some experience of the mystery of the presence
of God in their lives, but that they lack the language, permission, and understanding to
express and enjoy that in our cultures.
Berryman says, “Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play
approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language
and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond.”
In, we enter into parables, scared stories, sacred liturgy, and silence, in order to discover God, ourselves, one another and the world around us.
The Godly Play Foundation, USA, has given ISSU the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute Godly Play materials in the SAARC nations and Middle-Eastern countries.
We need seed capital of Rs.10,00,000/- to start production of Godly Play materials.
